A No Good, Very Bad, Game
RIFC fall 1-0 to Miami FC on "Goals Galore" Night
Pals, I’m really struggling to get over this game being called “Goals Galore” on the schedule release. To be clear, this has nothing to do with the outcome of the match but it was so silly at the time of the release and even more-so writing about a 1-0 loss.
For the match itself, this was pretty much what we’ve seen from RIFC for the majority of the year. Dominate possession, control the match, create a few nearly chances then concede from the first and only opportunity the other team has, especially on a set piece.
This team has a lot to figure out right now. Two goals scored in five home matches at Centreville Bank Stadium won’t cut it. We’re capable of significantly more than what is being shown on the pitch. I know that. You know that. The team knows that.
Maybe, just maybe, a trip to Louisville is just what the doctor ordered for the second season in a row.
Riptide Report
Matt Hands was literally writing this around the 80th minute mark and nailed a lot of hash but fair points.
Player Ratings
Timmy does an honorable job in this one trying to rate anyone above a 5.
The Tide Talk Show
Matt Kerwin, Matt Hands and special guest Ervin dove into the match and more importantly, the reaction to it. A lot of things to consider in this episode.
Bonus: Double Pivot
If you haven’t checked out Timmy and Andrew’s new show, I highly recommend it. They take a higher level look at RIFC at the 1/3rd of the season mark and dive into open questions that we all have at this point.
Up the Tide!
