Dreadful Derby

There is nothing I want to do less in the world right now than talk about this match any more than we already have. But yet, I show up anyways unlike The Tide on Saturday night.

In what was a beautiful day leading up to the match (well, as beautiful as it can be when you’re in Connecticut), all of the enthusiasm was sucked out of Section 1 like they were those shitty green condom balloons that the Athletic supporters keep bringing to Rhode Island just 5 minutes into this one.

And while the supporters tried their asses off to breathe some life into this team, the performance and close proximity to car fumes from a major highway wouldn’t allow it.

This is now the tenth loss in 21 matches. Still just 15 goals scored. Still seeing zero progress at changing this. The Tide now sit outside of the playoff spots with nine matches to go. Even better news? We start our four match home stand hosting,

Before we get to the content - while things haven’t been great, just need to shoutout the community around this team for the 8000th time. The tailgate was a blast, Defiance crushed yet another school supplies drive and we always appreciate the support that you give Tide Talk. Talking with people who have been day 1 readers/listeners or just checked our stuff out for the first time is something none of us take for granted. In what’s been a tough season, it’s nice that we all have each other.
