Exasperation Against The Eleven
RIFC fall 1-0 to The Indy Eleven falling further behind in the playoff race
In a classic “six pointer” RIFC were flat out not good enough on Saturday. This was as close to a must win game as you can get at this point in a season, going up against a direct playoff rival where just one point separated the two teams going into it.
Is it harsh to say that RIFC may have been better off not getting off of the team bus? This was yet another game that painted the perfect picture of this season. A dumb mistake at the back, a nonexistent midfield and zero offensive threat allowed a sub par Indy Eleven to walk away with all three points.
It was another night of 0 big chances created and even worse, 0 shots on goal. They could have played without a goalie and the scoreline would have been the same. That’s where we’re at.
Sitting 26 points behind league leaders The Charleston Battery and two points outside of the playoffs, every single point is at a premium. With a back to back derbys on the horizon, it’s now or never for The Tide to turn this season around.
Riptide Report
Hands continues to nail his quick three points after these matches. Might have had this one up before the final whistle.
Player Ratings
Timmy with an unconventional and somehow too positive set of Player Ratings this week. Giving him a 10/10 for actually rewatching this game.
The Tide Talk Show
It was double duty for Matt Hands this week. Him and Matt somehow managed to talk through this one, answer your questions and read your comments on social.
Up the Tide!
