Goals in the Golden State
The Tide notch their first win of the season in Oakland
That’s more like it.
Rhode Island FC head back from the golden state with three points in the bag. Was it a vintage performance? Not really. Did we show some signs that the team of last summer/fall is still here? Yes.
Most of the focus will be on the ten minute scoring barrage that sealed this win for The Tide. Goals from Chico, Clay Holstad and JJ Williams put this one out of reach right before halftime. But the intensity and focus was what really stood out to me in this one.
Getting back on track was hugely important. With cup games starting and a trip to Detroit on the horizon, RIFC needed to start picking up momentum, and more importantly, points. And that they did.
Player Ratings
Timmy is back as always with his player ratings this week. Nice to know that he does, in fact, have numbers higher than 5 on his keyboard after this win
Tide Talk Show
Matt and I got together as always to discuss this one. Was this a great win? Does Oakland stink? Will JJ win the Golden Boot? Lots to discuss after this one
Up the Tide!
