It's Game Day....Again

RIFC continue their early season gauntlet, heading to Birmingham to take on the Legion tonight. After a disappointing 1-1 draw with Monterey this past Saturday, RIFC need to start accumulating points if they want to keep the dreams of a home playoff game at Centreville Bank Stadium alive.

While RIFC are dealing with injury woes, facing Birmingham and Tampa, who are struggling in their own right, on this mini road trip might just be what the doctor ordered.

A Gritty Comeback or a Disappointing Draw?

RIFC dominated a 1-1 match against Monterey Bay except for the few metrics where it counts. They controlled play and kept Monterey out of their defensive third but couldn’t bring all three points home.

A sloppy defensive mistake and a lack of ideas in the final third let the effort down with The Tide needing to settle for a draw.

The Traveling Tide

The Tide turn their attention to Birmingham Legion tonight. Tied on points, the Legion have had their own struggles to start the season leading to the dismissal of long time head coach Tommy Soehn.

Hopefully some home cooking for Clay is just what the doctor ordered to get him back on the scoresheet.
