One more for the Rhode
RIFC cap off their fifth game in fourteen days against the Tampa Bay Rowdies
Is that a bit of momentum I smell? Rhode Island FC polished off a boring professional 1-0 win against the Birmingham Legion on Wednesday night. There’s been a lot of complaints about this match but three points are three points and I’ll take them any way I can get them. With that win, RIFC move up to sixth place in the Eastern Conference, just five points back of fifth place with a game in hand.
The Tide roll down (across?) to Tampa Saturday night to finish this absolute gauntlet of a schedule against a struggling Rowdies side. If there’s one thing that we’ll be able to say about this team is that they’ve been battle tested to start this season. 7/9 matches on the road, countless key injuries, and a condensed schedule have certainly made this one interesting. Lets hope we come out of this better for it.
As always, The Defiance will be at The Guild for this one. Make sure to swing by and watch with the greatest supporters group in New England!

A win’s a win
As I mentioned, RIFC took home all three points against a struggling Birmingham side who spent half the game playing down a man. I have no qualms with the performance but I know I’m potentially in the minority there. At the end of the day, just win baby, win.

Matt & I dove into this match and disagreed on a lot more than usual. Sorry for liking winning, everyone!
Momentum? I’d like a bit of that
After picking up three points to start this mini road trip on Wednesday, The Tide have a chance to really build momentum heading into the middle of this season Saturday night.
Tampa sit in dead last in the entire USL, amassing just four points in their first eight games. For a team that has historically been one of the top sides in this league, it’s a great opportunity to exercise the demons of last season’s visit.
