Portland, Detroit, The Revs. Oh My!
There's PLENTY of RIFC news to dive into this week
What a week! After settling in to the pre and post-match newsletter grind, this week has really ramped things up.
RIFC Hack Down Hearts of Pine 2-1
We’ll start up in Portland where RIFC got their first Open Cup win under their belt, beating the Portland Hearts of Pine in a testy affair. As someone who has admired Portland from afar, it was awesome being there to see what they are building. Watching a match in-person with The Defiance and my Tide Talk brethren was just what the doctor ordered except that my voice still hasn’t fully recovered.

The Revs? The Revs!
In other Open Cup news, the fourth round has been drawn and you may or may not have heard that RIFC will be taking on the New England Revolution May 7th. There’s been a lot of build up to this potential matchup for the past two years. If you’re interested, tickets are going FAST. There’s a few links in the team’s blog here where you can buy a multi-game package that includes this one. Probably your best bet at this point.

The Tide Ride to Motor City
With all of that being said, there’s a job to be done this weekend. The Tide travel to Detroit to take on Detroit City FC. Detroit has started the season well, tied for second place at the moment. We haven’t fared well against the boys in rouge so far but maybe a little Maxi homecoming magic is just what he needs to open his RIFC account.

Patrick is back as always with his Pre-Match Essentials. Give the man an upvote!
As always, you’ll find the Defiance 1636 at The Guild in Pawtucket. Come on down and have some fun with the best supporter’s group around.
