RIFC host the Tampa Bay Rowdies Saturday in Pawtucket

The home finale of the 2025 regular season. It feels like yesterday that we were patiently waiting for the first ever match to be played at Centreville Bank Stadium. Now, 19 matches later, it feels like a second home to many of us.

We’ve popped smokes, marched to the match in droves, saw a rainbow, experienced a few last minute winners, were subjected to lewd gestures from an opposition keeper, sang Psycho Killer and consumed thousands of pretzels (collectively, not just me, I swear).

While we’ve seen a league worst 10 goals in our 14 league home matches, The Tide seems to be rising in Pawtucket. With four wins in their last five league matches at home and three goals scored their last time out against Vegas, RIFC propelled themselves to the second best record in the league over their past 6 matches.

And this hasn’t been a fluke. Over those six matches, the team has the fifth highest expected goal differential in the entire league and the fourth highest expected points.

If there was ever a time to peak, now is it. With just three regular season matches remaining and two points ahead of Indy for the final playoff spot, Rhode Island needs to keep up this form at all cost. The best way to do that? Another 8-1 final home match of the season would do the trick.

Hands was able to churn this one out while watching our guy Jojea play for Rwanda. The king of multitasking.
