And just like that, it’s over.
As a content creator following a USL team, the season can feel relentless. There’s minimal breaks, multiple matches and competitions a week and off the field news that you are constantly discussing. As you continue to run 100MPH into the playoffs, it’s an odd feeling knowing that all of this can be over in the next 90 or 120 minutes.
After sitting near the bottom of the table for all of 2025, RIFC made a surprising run to the Eastern Conference Finals after securing the 7 seed in the last weeks of the regular season. That sentence alone demonstrates the conflict of how to feel about RIFC 2025.
At the end of the day, what we’ll have are the memories of this year. The new stadium opening, a few fun away days and the community around this club will always stand out. But on the pitch, there was not a lot to store in the ‘ol memory bank which is unfortunate with the level of talent on this roster.
As an aside - just want to give a huge shoutout to anyone that supports that Tide Talk does. It’s a really dedicated group that puts a lot of our free time into this and it wouldn’t be nearly as fun without the fantastic people who make up this fanbase. We deeply appreciate all of you, even those of you who think our takes suck (low bar).
