The Birmingham Blues

RIFC escape with a 1-1 draw against the Birmingham Legion

How ‘bout those fireworks? On a night where the vibes were high off the pitch, RIFC continued their poor run of form on it.

In front of a sold out crowd, The Tide continued to look impotent in attack beyond a Noah Fuson moment of magic. With no firepower up front, all it takes is one small mistake at the back to give the other team an advantage which we saw familiar face Stephen Turnbull do in the first half.

With the pressure applied by Birmingham in the second half, you could easily make the case the RIFC were lucky to leave this one with any points at all. Sitting outside of the playoffs at the midway point of this season, The Tide need to start getting some momentum going if they want to solidify a second consecutive postseason berth.

Riptide Report

I’m pretty sure Matt Hands had this thing out before they got to Katy Perry in the fireworks. Incredible stuff by Matt Hands per usual

Player Ratings

Best part of this was Timmy sneaking in the fact that he’s already diving into playoff tiebreaker scenarios. What an absolute DOG.

The Tide Talk Show

Matt and I reluctantly dove into this match and conducted a mid-year review for the team. No better way to fight off the Sunday Scaries than to mimic one of the more nerve racking moments of Corporate America.

June Tide Chart

Bonus one! Andrew pulled together his monthly Tide Chart ahead of the match last weekend.

We’ll be back Wednesday night at 8:30pm with an Away End with fan favorite Betz from the Cue the Smoke Podcast. We hope to see you in the chat!

Up the Tide!
