The Lowest of Tides
RIFC fall 2-0 to Loudoun United
I desperately don’t want to talk about this game anymore but here we are.
As most of you will be aware, The Tide Rolled in to face Loudoun United and boy oh boy was it the lowest of low tides.
Conceding two goals with what can only be kindly described as shambolic defending, failing to apply pressure while up a man for thirty minutes then capping it off with a meaningless red card in the 94th minute summed up a real shitty afternoon (sorry if any of you use these newsletters as bed time stories.)
It’s been an rough start to a season in which there were high expectations of RIFC. 1 point earned, 1 goal scored by an RIFC player and a lot of question marks around this team. But, you know what they say, nothing sets things straight like three points.
The real high from this weekend was anyone who came out to the Defiance Bike Bus test or to The Guild for the watch party. While the match was a bummer, it’s always better to be bummed around pals.
To the Content:
Timmy was borderline too kind in his player ratings after a match that many are saying was the worst in RIFC history
Matt and I did our best to cover this one. It was so bad it even drove me to make some slides.
Up the Tide,
